Middle school is one of the last large transitions of life. Just as it was from home to Kindergarten, students go through a drastic change in middle school. Hence, pre-teen/teenagers! With all of the social struggles, increased anxiety, depression, drugs, internet usage, and online social media, that are constantly surrounding teenagers Divine Providence Academy provides individual specialized teaching for students. In an average public school in our area a middle school teacher will have 100-120 students. Students will have 5-6 teachers thus not able to build a solid foundation during their foundational years. Divine Providence Academy helps guide and make the transition smoother from childhood to adulthood. Instead of being overwhelmed with larger class sizes, higher social pressures we build a strong foundation in their Catholic faith and provide faith and logic together. Students learn how to build their own educational and personal goals and apply those to real-life skills. We are here for your teenager and we are here to help you along the path as well. They enter high school highly self-motivated, strong in their faith, and ready to help and guide others with their leadership.
Mrs. Tara Lafferty is currently working towards her masters in education at Aquinas University. She enjoys reading and expanding her knowledge on teenage development, how neuroscience works with teens and brain development, learning, anxiety, and depression that teenagers all have. Mrs. Lafferty has an extensive background with environmental education and enjoys creating learning styles that are hands-on and applicable to the working/real world. Faith and science smoothly go hand in hand knowing that God is all-mighty and it’s amazing at the wonders he has created while with science we are merely discovering all His wonder in His glory.
